sweaty worship

Whether its our career, money, college football, a person, or a Savior; we spend countless hours of our life in worship of something or someone… These postings are solely the thoughts and insights of Tim May, worship pastor of Ridge Stone Church in Canton Ga. These thoughts are not intended to represent the views and opinion of RSC, or its staff.

Highway to Hell Setlist 7.16.06

So last week was quite fun. Lets say about Tuesday, my fat big toe decided that this week would be a good week for the "gout". I call in the meds but I'm dying by rehearsal Thursday evening. We breeze through rehearsal and I head straight "for the border" to get one of those crunch supreme wraps. I needed to take the pain pills with food and water. Lets just say at 4:00am friday morning I was "good to go" to the porcelain throne and love on it for a while. The crunch wrap was good but it wasn't worth all the pain on Friday.

To think about it... we were preaching on hell last Sunday and I don't believe Satan really wanted that to happen. Check out the setlist... we had fun with this one.

Open Up The Gates - Planetshakers
Salvation is Here - HU
You Never Let Go - Matt Redman
Highway To Hell - AC/DC
Rooftops - Desperation Band CD

Yes... we did Highway to Hell

Oh, the best part... we had some "Randy" look-a-like worship leader visit our service and our people think I look like Earl! He declined the photo opp though. Sorry.

"The Warrior" Setlist 6.18.06

We called an audible this past Sunday and decided to do a hard hitting message to the men of our church. One of the values we have at RSC is that if you reach the man; you reach the family. We believe that almost to a fault. This picture doesn't do the atmosphere justice but it was incredible. We had a hard hitting worship set that ended with Pillar's Frontline. I never felt so white in my life. I am glad we have Chris (on the right) on board at our church. I'm the very white boy on the left! Chris rapped the verses and I did the screaming on the verses. It was a challenge for sure. Let me also give props to my guitarists, Evan, who's playing on the riser behind me. He nailed that song.

Setlist:

God You are My God - Delirious - (Harvey kicked it off with a shreading guitar solo)
What The World will Never Take - Hillsong United
Glorious One's - on it's third week it's nice to see the church starting to own the song
Frontline - Pillar

Setlist 6.11.05

So... yea... About this past Sunday... Just when we thought the big "MO" was gonna keep rolling, things came to a screeching halt. We were pretty low in attendance but it was an ok service overall. The encouraging part were most everyone who came Sunday were not a part of the Stone 8 months ago.

Glorious One's - Tim May
Forever King - Todd Fields
Rain Down - Early Crowder
What the World will Never Take - Hillsong United

Setlist 6.4.06

Summer? What Summer? I know for new church plants, summer tends to be slow but so far our people are rockin. Yesterday was encouraging. My sound crew were on their own for the second time and didn't miss a beat. From what our people said... things sounded great. These guys are sold out and work well as a team. I love em. The worship went down like this...

Open Up The Gates - Planetshakers
Your Grace is Enough - Chris Tomlin
Inside Out - Hillsong United
Here is Our King - David Crowder
Glorious Ones - Tim May

Outdoor Service 5.28.06

I know the super religious out there will want to bash me for saying this but it just feels great to have an awesome killer service to follow the let down of last week. Last week was rough and I don't think we came close to our commitment to excellence but we rebounded well. Our worship team was on, Gary was on and our rookie sound crew ran sound like veterans. I'm really excited about the growth in sound area. For the second week in a row, they came through and deserve a lot of props... especially running sound outside and for a larger worship set than normal.

Setlist:

Worship:

Forever King - Todd Fields
My Glorious - Martin Smith
Rain Down - David Crowder - UBC album
(stall for time song) Joyful Noise - David Crowder

Semi Concert (in theory we were to play as people ate lunch)

Meant to Live - switchfoot - Great job feeder boy! (Chris)
Consuming Fire - Third Day
Party - Chris Tomlin - Matt... you brought it!
Living on a Prayer - Bon Jovi
Beautiful Day - U2
(stalled for more time again (food) - I won't begin to list what we did)
